From the M6 – North or South pick up the
M54…junction 10A…follow to the end of the
motorway then at the roundabout 3rd exit M54..heading for
North Wales…stay on this until it becomes the A5.
1st island – 1st exit a5 [A458 Welshpool]
2nd island – 2nd exit - ditto
3rd island – 3rd exit – ditto
YOU WILL SEE AN ESSO, DOBBIES AND LITTLE CHEF / TRAVEL
LODGE ON THIS ISLAND – REFUEL HERE CHEAPEST PETROL!
4th island – 2nd exit – A5
5th island – 2nd exit
6th island – 1st exit – A458 Welshpool
After 14.1 miles at island turn left on island …..to
Welshpool
Take 1st right [0.6 mile] to Welshpool
After 0.7 miles coming down a hill Spar on your left turn
immediately right…if you go past Spar you’ve
gone too far..
0.5 mile come to Island take 2nd exit – level with
Steam Railway…
Stay on this road for approx 38 miles –
You will go through the villages:
eventually an island with Texaco Petrol Station on your
left take 3rd exit at island towards
Dolgellau……stay on this road up and over
mountain for around 33 miles…….when you pass
through Trawsfynydd [huge reservoir] down the hill take the
left to Harlech A496…
On the A496 drive past The Grapes Public house @ Maentwrog
and after 5.1 miles you are in the village of
Talsarnau…just before the national speed limit sign
take the left up to the Hall and 1st right…drive
past the Hall and park on the hardcore level with our
wooded area.
